Gillian is a Limerick based artist. She attended the Limerick School of Art and Design and then completed a Masters in Fine Art in Belfast.
Gillian was awarded the Countess Markievicz medal for painting in 2000. She has received significant funding from the Arts Council, including a travel award for a research project in Mexico in 2005. Gillian has been exhibiting her paintings both nationally and abroad for the last eleven years, at venues such as Limerick City Gallery, The Hunt Museum Limerick, The Belltable Limerick, Droichead Arts Centre Drogheda, The Molesworth Gallery Dublin, The Lab Dublin, Spectrum Fine Art London, The Phatory New York and The Engine Gallery Toronto. Her paintings have been described by Irish Times critic Aidan Dunne as “crisply and expertly painted.”
